MUSIC AT SHS
At Sinclair House, music and performance is of a high standard throughout the school, with our specialist Music Teacher stretching and challenging all of our children in both class Music lessons, our various choirs, instrumental concerts and end of term productions.
Each class has a 1-hour Music lesson each week where they learn about the broader aspects of musical history, as well as rhythm, tempo, pitch, international music and culture.
In addition to the weekly class Music lesson, all children have the option to join the extra-curricular Music club. For children in Year 3 – Year 6, they also have the option to join the extra-curricular Song-Writing club.
All SHS children are also part of the school choir (Pre-Prep Choir and Prep Choir). Children may also be selected to sing in the Chamber Choir and opt to join the after-school "Broadway Singers."
Pupils perform for parents across the academic year as part of school events, including the termly Instrumental and Ensemble Concerts; the Prep School Christmas Carol Concert; the Pre-Prep Nativity Play; the Spring Concert; and the annual end of year productions.
The school also takes part in the Young Voices concert at the O2 arena each year, joining a choir of over 7000 children performing with a live band, backing singers and professional musicians.
