In the Kestrels Reception class we believe that a child’s early education is really important and provides the basis for all future learning. Pupils in the Kestrels build upon the strong and secure foundations laid in the Nursery years. A child’s first year in the Kestrels should be a happy and rewarding experience where each child will feel valued, loved and secure. Emphasis is placed on gaining increasing independence with a widening of the curriculum. Through the Montessori Curriculum and the Kestrels termly projects we provide extensive opportunities for learning in the six key areas of development within the Foundation Stage

French is taught from Reception age using a formal approach with a strong emphasis on speaking. The school offers the French C.N.E.D. curriculum for French speaking children.
